Books from my August 1st batch
I love listening to books while working in the chocolate lab. Some like to listen to music or podcasts but books are my friends and between the library and a couple of subscriptions I have a wide spread of stories available. I just love it.
So once in a while, I’ll try to find the time to share with you what accompanied me while producing that batch you are now eating.
I’ll keep it simple and won’t try to summarize the books, as you can always go find a better description online. But I will make sure to share if it was, in my personal humble opinion, good company, just ok or if I was ready to drop it. The latter does not happen often as I do a pre-selection or get recommendations from my friends.
For now, I’ll keep the comments off as it would be too much work to monitor but feel free to send me questions or comments. I’ll be happy to get back to you.
The Schrödinger Girl by Laurel Brett Thumbs Up - liked the exploration of parallel lives.
Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng Another great book from Celeste, but so dark, which can make anyone uncomfortable when it’s not so far from reality
Watching You by Lisa Jewell Helped me keep a nice pace: suspense / murder to solve but guessed too early who was the guilty part.
The paper wife by Laila Ibrahim Just started - liked it so far - From China to San Francisco via Angel Island.
YEP - I do listen non-stop (pretty much) and sometimes at a faster speed (Watching you) !
Where do I get so many books: Libby (Oakland Public Library), Scribd, and Audible are my main sources.
